How will Shenmue III start?

I asked this a few days ago for the Twitter Q&A tonight. Hoping Yu can answer it.

I hope he can't. Spoiler is better as this moment will be totally symbolic for all of us.

Q: Shenmue III has yet to be developed but could you tell us how you would like it to begin from? Are we going to start playing from the where we left or... ?

Yu Suzuki : I haven't decided yet how Shenmue III will begin, but if that's possible, I would like players to start from Shenhua's house.

I think a nice opening shot of ye olde Shenmue tree would be appropriate!

I would love to see bits of Disc 4 reimagined, hopefully the cinema shorts do a nice job of that. Something playable would be cool as an add-on or unlockable, but I don't expect it to happen as the actual start of S3

There you go. The legend stated it himself. "from Shenhua's house" If this is what he wants then we can hope and speculate to the extent that the game will continue from Ryo and Shenhua leaving the house to the cave, the end of Shenmue 2. (fingers crossed of course!)

I seem to remember that someone somewhere (I think from here actually) had a theory that Lan Di was in the cave with Shenhua and Ryo at the end of Shenmue II and that III would open up with him confronting them. Seems pretty far fetched now but if I remember correctly it was quite convincing at the time.

I`d like the game to start directly were it left of or right outside the cave. But I would be ok if it start in Shenhuas house at dinner too.

I saw many people suggest redoing disc 4. But I consider that disc to be perfect. I don`t want it any other way. But I`m generally not one for remakes. I also don`t think they have the budget for that honestly. I like them to concentrate on Shenmue IIIs story entirely.

I think most of the prequel story will be told via flashbacks, dreams/nightmares and conversation.

No need to put a 3 hours intro in the game.

Right were it ended or maybe just a little recap of the last 5 minutes in the cave when Ryo and Shenhua discovers the mural and the sword.

I wonder how much significance the stone pit will have for the story, and if it will be in S3 or if we''ll start in Shenhuas house after that event. However symbolicly it would feel really good to be able to walk out of the stone pit at the beginning of the game
