Honestly the Paypal thing puts a bad taste in my mouth. What they should be doing is merchandising. If they make official Shenmue related fan stuff that would be much wiser.

It's regular for kickstarter projects.

Why does it put a bad taste in your mouth?

Merchandising would obviously cost money and the KS money is for development so PayPal makes sense...

I fell asleep so didn't watch but was it elaborated on at all?

Like will there be PayPal rewards etc? I know we're waiting for the link buy just wondered what was actually said.... Also was it announced literally straight after KS closed?

Merchandising would just cost them like with the Kickstarter rewards. I'd rather we could just donate money that goes straight towards the development.

That's what she said...

Because they already asked for donations through Kickstarter. To ask for more with nothing in return to a paypal account just doesn't sit right with me. Haven't they heard of corporate sponsorship?

They'll be adding rewards from the Kickstarter for Paypal donations, I imagine.

"Nothing in return" isn't really fair. We'd be getting a better Shenmue experience.

What, you think Yu's a thief? :P

I doubt that will be the case. Time will tell though.

If rewards apply to the Paypal, i will definitely be getting the replica jacket, the crystal sculpture and also possibly a Lucky Hit board.

I'm in support either way, but we don't know if they will offer anything, yet.

The crystal thing looks great, i might also pick up the lucky hit board as well in a few months if rewards stay up.

I wonder if there will be totally new reward tiers for Pay Pal donations. A fourth dinner perhaps?

Why a 4th? There is still 1 Monaco space to go.

You know what this means, guys? It's going to happen. We're GOING to get the Shenmue game we've dreamed of for more than a decade. I'm overwhelmed with joy and relief right now. Every month on the 3rd, sign me up for a donation! Whatever I can spare! I don't need any rewards. Just the promise of a great Shenmue game.

Donations are charity. Otherwise it's not a donation - it's a purchase. I don't need anything in return but the game. Had they asked us to, I would have given up my reward on Kickstarter honestly, but it seems they took all that into account when planning the budget.

Did Yu specifically say "donation"? I was hoping to buy some digital copies for my friends.
