I have noticed keeping the GAF threads active for both the KS and PayPal campaign have been attracting a few new people into them and having them ask about the project, but that's probably only part of the reason for the continued surge.

Well I think it's obvious that a lot of people still believed that the deadline was valid. Just before the new year, I've seen some tweets urging people to back because of the endline. I'm expecting a strong donations drop from now. That's why a campaign extension does not make so much sense for me, most of people will only postpone their pledge until the next deadline while YSnet needs the money as soon as possible.

Extending it a little while longer can't hurt. I think there's certainly been more interest since the last few KS updates showed off a little more impressive content than was in the original KS pitch, and that may have had an impact. They can't finish the PayPal campaign until KS upgrades are in place and the PC version is available to slacker backers anyway. Once those start happening, then we know the PayPal is going to wind down within a month or so.

Ehhhhh, it probably helped but a few podunk news sites here or there can't have given us a great boost like the one we got over New Years. Then again, the more exposure the better. Certainly can't have hurt.
