Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but this tweet confirms the existence of an extended version of the Teaser published by Sony on Youtube.

I've just had the huge pleasure of viewing the extended Shenmue 3 trailer with Yu Suzuki himself! What an experience. Even gave him merch

I wish I could have been there to meet both Suzuki-san and many of you.

Wish I had a time machine to go get my copy of the game and bring it back. I'm very excited. Hopefully we get to eventually see the extended trailer.

- Pinball, punching ball and whac-a-mole as mini games.
- The new QTE system consists of QTEs based on "sounds" and "lights".

Pinball? Yesssssss.

That's actually kind of a great idea. It's so very... 80s.

New QTE system sounds interesting.

According Julo from Gameblog, YSnet got a technical issue with a build of the game two months ago and it lead them to disable the facial animation in the trailer.

QTE's based on sound and light already sounds far more innovative for the QTE mechanic in the 10+ years that its been regurgitated everywhere.

:) And less intrusive too, they probably won't ruin the tone by breaking the 4th wall.

Well he did always say he was gonna make a whole new system for QTE's.

Wouldn't be surprised if other games once again start copying what Yu does.

TBH, considering Yu invented the modern QTE in Shenmue, expanded upon it & subverted it in Shenmue II, it would be odd if 15 years later he didn't try reinventing the system for III.

There's always Excite QTE 3 and QTE Title for fans of the old ones, though.

Man are just so many pieces of new little information that it's really tough not to lose the overview of everything and go crazy about all the things the game's gonna have. Also many insights to how the teaser came to be that are yet again absolute reassuring they're going to get everything right by the game's release.

Was personally never worried.

As I told you yesterday and as you and most of us here know. Yu was already doing eye animation way back in Virtua Fighter 2. Say yeah there's no reason whatsoever to think he wouldn't get eye and facial animation right for Shenmue 3.

The only reason I'm glad these details are being spoken about is so I can throw them right at the people who are going "This shitz looks like PS1 CG LULZ!!!"

Other than that, full trust in Yu as always :D

Unfortunately this event does solidify the fact that developers can rarely be honest with their audience about the state of their game while in development. Smoke and mirrors forever and ever.

I find it hilarious to be honest.

Ubisoft shows footage. Internet outrage "Bullshots".
Shenmue shows real in development footage "Looks ugly as shit".

The "internet" is always gonna moan and complain about something and gamers these days in particular.
So whenever I see dumb reactions like that pop up, I find myself remembering the words of the great George Carlin.

“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”
