Maybe. Depends what they show, how they show it, and if it actually looks interesting to people not already invested in the series.

In an ideal world YSnet shows some great gameplay footage, sets a release window or even a date on the backer demo, and announces a pledge upgrades system. It's probably a bit late for a boost in funding to make a huge difference, but I can see a lot of new/upgraded pledges going for the $100 demo tier if the gameplay footage gets people excited enough.

By what i read, it seems a lot of people are interested in the game and are waiting to see something consistent to decide if they invest in the slacker backer.

I'm confident in the team and knowing how is Suzuki, if they decided to present the game this time it's because is worth it.

Pledge upgrades are probably more important than Slacker Backers right now. No matter how good YSnet's showing is at Gamescom, some people are always going to hold back and wait for release.

There are over 50,000 backers who pledged below the $100 demo tier. If they're given a reason to get excited about the backer demo, it could mean some serious money flowing in, and because they've already pledged to Shenmue III they'll be an easier market to sell to than fence-sitters.

If only half of that number pledge only an additional $20 at minimum, that's an extra $500,000.

I'm honestly surprised that that the slacker backer campaign is still open. I would imagine that the crowd funding will end shortly after Gamescom. Give it one last push and then call it good and finalize budget items.

It may end up going on until the end of the year at this rate. At least, if what was said by Joel a while ago pans out; which is that it'll either wrap up in the summer or at the end of 2017, and we're running out of summer.

Besides, if YSnet wants to make the most of whatever bump comes from Gamescom they might as well ride it right up to December 31st.

I'd leave it open til early next year, especially if the first formal reveal(big time) comes at PSX this year. Either way, if upgrade tiers come and good screens or clips from Gamescom, I think 7 million is doable by years end..

So if I already pledged to the game on Kickstarter for PC how would I go about ordering another copy for PS4? Do I do the pre-order through the normal shenmue 3 website?
