Update?

I haven't heard much on Shenmue can someone update me? I kinda tried to forget about Shenmue 3 because I want it SO bad, and then one day see it on IGN/Game spy/forums or whatever and YAY but no news :( so what's up guys?

Um, right, welcome back ill do it in points
1: Shenmue 3 has not been announced yet
2: There is a big hope for it at E3 as there have been hints from interviews
3: Sega will be releasing a line up shortly
4: Shenmue.com has been updated recently with wallpapers etc so ther is hope.

At the dojo mind:
1: Some clever people at the dojo( LanDc White shadow etc) have been hacking shenmue 2 and finding out how to play in the places of cutscenes, and also mods have been made
2: Miles Prower has put up a site of all the profiles from characters in shenmue 2
3: Kiyuu has been translating a lot lately and has found out about niao suns personality and revealed to us.

There is also shitloads more, check it out.

i dont think there is a planned sequel to skies at the moment.... but i would kill for that! its one of my favorite agmes ever!

I'm pretty sure a while back a sequel to Skies was confirmed, but I don't think anything was heard for a while. Hopefully we hear something soon, but I'm sure a sequel has been announced, or at least mentioned, by Overworks or Sega.

In an interview with Sega developers, Noriyoshi Oba of Overworks (the developers behind Skies of Arcadia) stated that a sequel to the widely-acclaimed game is being planned.

Here`s the quote from the Kikizo games interview:

You seem like a very happy guy, why such a violent game like Shinobi? And is there going to be a Skies of Arcadia sequel?

Noriyoshi Oba: I don't think it's such a violent game! [laughs] The Skies of Arcadia sequel is in the planning stages at the moment.

Great news for all RPG fans, although we don`t know for sure if it`s coming to Gamecube. But chances are it will. We`ll keep you updated.

I dislike the first half of skies of arcadia. Extremely boring and random encounters occured too frequently.

I had a choice to buy Skies of Arcadia but i opted for Shenmue...Is Skies of Arcadia actually any good and would it be worth buying another dreamcast for.

It's also on Gamecube if you have one of those. If not its worth getting a GC for there are also other good games on GC Dreamcast has good games to though but its not getting any more.

Yeah, Skies is pretty good. The random battles can get annoying but the rest is pretty good.
However, it's got nothing on Shenmue of course so you chose wisely!

Well... I personally haven't done anything new, besides dumping the textures of the signs in the beta aberdeen map for LanDC to send to Kiyuu for translation. All the cool stuff was made by LanDC and Mestre, they're the real modders in this place.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not clever, I'm a dumbass.. ^^;

If you have GC, get it for that, I think the random battles are less frequent plus there's some sidequests. I have the GC version. But if you don't have GC, you sould be able to get a DC and Skies for 50 bucks tops. Also, if you don't have a dC, how can you play the first Shenmue?? I recomend getting one, with SHenmue and Skies.
