A hint the the Shenmue meaning

Postby Yenaphe » Thu Mar 04, 2004 8:38 am

I was looking for information about the history of the tibetan civilisations, when i found out that, before the switched to buddhism, they used to have people called Shen.

They were priests considered as the ministry of gods.
I tryed to figure out what was their exact job, but i have to read the whole book, as they seemed to be so important, they are often described in lots of actions.

Anyway, when i wrote this, the first thing that came into my mind was that description of shahua drowing in the omake directory of Shenmue 1. She was supposed to be a tibetan girl ryo meet later in the game, but yu drather switched her into the main character.

I found interesting the fact that high important tibetan people wherecalled Shen, and that in one point, ryo goes to tibet, and remember, Yu Suzuki said that the meaning of Shenmue will be revealed in the 3rd instaliement of the series.

Anyhow, i looked a bit deeper, and found out that "mu" (note mue) was the god of the sky in this antique tibetan civilisation.

Maybe it's not related to Shenmue in anyway, but i found this is very interesting.

Hope this has not been already posted in the old topic i counld find.

It's been talked about before, how:

Shen = God (or similar);
Mue = Tree;

Tree of the Gods (read: shenmue), anyone? :lol:
