A budget of 30 billion won which translates to nearly $26 million US, this is freaking amazing. Ok, it's not Shenmue 3, but they're obviously going to do something with the story. We will get more Shenmue, we're BACK baby!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Not particularly optimistic myself... I want S3 made by Sega alone, just as S1/2 were developed before... A third-party in the game usually only complicates things and results in a low-quality finished product...

Plus how the hell can a game like Shenmue be run ONLINE? Seriously. :?

Quick Altavista translation:

ジェイシー, in cooperation with Sega to "シェンムー" online edition development

As for online game company "ジェイシーエンターテインメント" on the 3rd, the game company "Sega of Japan (SEGA)" with in cooperation, online game edition of the Sega game software "シェンムー" when it is in the midst of cooperation developing, was made clear.

シェンムー as game machine "dream cast" business for home in 99 in 1st feature, 2001 2nd in the series where feature is produced, the character a little more than of 1300 the enormous world is the super Daisaku game which materializes degree of freedom it is high e.g., it lives according to the respective schedule.

シェンムー online edition is developed in earnest from the February last year, it is the large-scale project where such as development expense the sum total 300 hundred million won are thrown and domestic marketing cost.

It is the schedule where シェンムー online edition starts the test service which is secret to the November this year, executes release test service during next year first half.

"シェンムー", of course, means Shenmue.

It doesn't necessarily mean they're actually co-developing it. They may well just be helping Sega with the funding and publishing.

Plus how the hell can a game like Shenmue be run ONLINE? Seriously. :?

That, I don't know. I'll guess we'll find out.

The fact that this project is apparently very large-scale, with a budget similar to the previous Shenmue games, gives me enormous confidence.

It also doesn't say it's a PC game, although there's a strong chance it is. PC, I must admit, IS the best platform for massively online games.

Yea, im not sure how Shenmue online would really work. I dunno if this is such a good idea on behalf of Shenmue, maybe it will work, but id rather have Shenmue 3 released on the Xbox instead of complicating things as WS said.

Take ity easy whiteshadow. You should be very very happy about. This is not a Shenmue III game.

They want to make Shenmue popular, and then we gonna have Shenmue III.

At this time Shenmue III might be a suicidal idea.

Shenmue on line is not the Ryo revenge history, SOL will be the history of the 1000 ppl around the game. Sounds good. ;)

Like I said, Sega alone. And in any case, Sega has always published its own games.
