(Chapter 7 and beyond)

Lol, Ichi-Ban. I love Shenmue more than most people- my site was named after it. And I don't play games at all anymore. So there.

Plus, the many years of speculation and debate has gone on for the past many years, and frankly speculation can only go so far and it's run it's course here. We've discussed all that there is to be discussed many time and more besides that.

Any new Shenmue Update Mr.Doree from your recent interview with AM2???

I guess that now AM2 might not be too busy anymore
Virtua Fighter 5 X360 just released a few days ago (Japan December)
GHOST SQUAD is almost done!(They're going to sell it for $30!!!)
After Burner Climax is done.

^In fact with making VF5 for PS3 and X360 also GHOST SQUAD
for Wii, now they have gained some useful experience
in making games for next gen hardwares...

Now what they're up to!!!(since years ago...)
Shenmue I and II again!!!
Shenmue III???
None of them???

EDIT:After Burner Climax is out since October 2006
and here is a nice review for it!

none of them is the right answer
Because they are now focus in making Arcade Games " Only " and some Arcade Ports

there is no any shenmue that it could happened without Yu Suzuki and AM+

that's it

^I'm sure that with SEGA's premission AM2 can still develop
new only-for-console titles!...but yes, during last years
they've just made some high quality arcade ports...

As for Yu Suzuki or AM+...when SEGA can easily work with Nintendo
on some games(like F-Zero, Mario & Sonic & etc)...why they shouldn't allow to Yu Suzuki/AM+ for working with AM2???

I mean a collaboration between AM2 and AM+ especially
for Shenmue is possible...& Suzuki san will defiantly
have some key roles in developing next Shenmue games...
(Maybe even for Virtua Fighter 5 which is just a real fighting game
they've asked for Yu Suzuki's friendly help or advice...who knows???)

Anyway Yu Suzuki is still the main father of both Shenmue and VF franchise...and that's why games like Virtua Fighter 5 can still rock!
(VF5 was under development for more than 2.5 years and the X360 version could receive a 10/10 from 1UP)

I'd hate to feel I'm bumping an old thread, but I just read this finally and dozens of replies. This only makes me want Shenmue III even more. I've never really felt like I've had to fight so hard with other people to get something done and I hope this campaign takes us somewhere. If my doctor gives me 3 months to live some day, I'd honestly make my dying wish to see Yu Suzuki before I bite the bullet. Maybe that'd get him to finish it.

Maybe he would. That is, if my theory about him being an evil genius is false.

I'm a bit late to reading this news, but each time I come here lately I only read depressing stuff. I wish they could finish the story somehow, release a book, or a DS game even!

Hey guys and girls. I've been browsing this site for a few years now.
I was a member before hand, unfortunately i could not remember the old email address i registered with a few years back.

Thought i'd check this site for the first time in what must be nearly 2 years, i'm saddened to hear of the news in the op. But i still hold some hope and faith.

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but perhaps money issues are a problem atm? It's well documented Shenmue cost a fortune. So perhaps SEGA are saving up a whole bucket load of cash to really pump some new life and respect into there company image through this great game.

As far as i'm aware SEGA aren't doing too bad as a 3rd party and are making profits. Granted SEGA refuse to comment on the game. And the op indicates bad news, but perhaps this is what SEGA want?
To lead the fans into a false sense of security. So if/when the game is finished and annouced, it would literally cause shockwaves amongst the communitys and hardcore fans.

It's farfetched and unlikely i know, but considering some of the publicity stunts we see today. Surely you couldn't rule it out 100%...

Awww, come on, you know you love alimn. He's pretty much, universally seen here, as the most acclaimed visionary of our time (and of our lost times). Without alimn, there would be no light.

Your love for the guy will blossom, with time.
