It seems like the lead trio, as a whole, is interested in returning. They seem to be fans themselves, and they have expressed interest in coming back. This doesn't even begin to address the contributions they have made on the fan front in the past, and it even seems that they (I can't speak for all of them) have contributed to the Kickstarter campaign. I think the key here is getting this message across to Yu and the development team.
The message being, of course, that we want them in the game, and more important, they want to be involved.

As most European players, I played I with English voices and II with Japanese ones. And as much as I appreciate Corey Marshall and the rest of the English VA commitment, I would pick the Japanese voices if I had to get only one set. It adds to the "exotic" character of the game (Chinese voices would be nice too, in fact) and they help hide the potential bad quality of the dub (not blaming the actors of course).
And if they are on a tight budget I would prefer investing their resources on scenarios, game systems and the likes than having multiple dubs (in fact I'm a bit surprised that in the Kickstarter tiers they prioritized the Shenmue I&2 movies to those game elements...)

No, fuck Japanese w/subs. Even Suzuki preferred the dub. Felt cheated when I played Shenmue II and there was no dub option.

They all want to do the game. It is up to the devs to invite them.
I have not heard from Paul Lucas yet. (chai and Lan Di)
All 3 of them publicly said this on my facebook timeline.
This is what I'm hoping for. Corey Marshall is a must in my mind, along with Paul Lucas. I'd love the main characters voices back as well, depending
who shows up in S3.

The dub was crap, tbh. Felt like you were talking to people who were half dead all the time.

The main cast were fine, imo. Not on some Morgan Freeman-level or owt, but they weren't awful as a lot of people try to make out.

It's mostly with the side-characters, especially in Shenmue II, where you see it being pretty bad. The main cast, for the most part, I think is pretty great. Although, I still think they need a different approach if they wan't to appeal to people today. People -- meaning not us and mostly general LAMEWADs who complain about dumb things.

Yeah, some of the Shenmue II actors were utterly ridiculous. The ones in the first weren't that bad though. A decent enough blend between real life and dopey cartoon characters, weird as it is.

Corey Marshall is the only one i really would love to come back. npc voice acting needs to be a lot better in this game.
i hope there are options to select either japanese or english dub .
if sony ends up financing it further we might not even get corey.

I think they've got Ryo's original Japanese voice actor back but Corey should ABSOLUTELY be apart of this.
