Shenmue Dojo

Hello,

Obviously like many of you I am simply overjoyed about the notion of Shenmue III becoming a reality. Shenmue has always been dear to me and even as someone who is primarily focused on PlayStation consoles, I still have my Dreamcast just for both games:


But what I want is information on what we know so far, prior to all the recent news. Admittedly I haven't played through Shenmue II in many years, I am more familiar with the 1st game than the second. But I have always felt that that on disc four (referring to the Dreamcast version) section in Shenmue II where your walking to Bailu Village felt sort of like a prologue to What Shenmue III may have been. As I said It has been a while since I played Shenmue II so I can't quite remember if you even reach the village or not. Are there any screenshots showing beyond what we saw in Shenmue II? Looking at a lot of archive material a lot of the preview videos of Shenmue 1 featured content for Shenmue II.

I've read up the section on ShenmueDojo's main website which is a great source and the main reason I decided to visit here

There were some scenes of Ryo in a village in Guillin. I know that the stuff was deleted from Shenmue 2, but I don't know if it was supposed to take place on the way to Shenhua's house, or after the cave. My guess is, it was gonna be after the cave, (therefore, to Shenmue 3), because it contained QTEs that used the R button, which doesn't happen in Shenmue 2 at all.

I'm just very curious to see what there is left of Shenmue III prior to it's 14 year absence.

Well, the berkeley video may show stuff about SIII (I really hope we can see Shun DI).

There was also a pic of an old man.

BTW those last 2 pictures are from baby shenhua cutscene that lanDC made playable, I think-

Interesting, I have never seen this Video before. I've seen plenty of images and footage of Shenmue as a Saturn game, but not this.. The CGI intro to the Berkley video is very interesting sing Shenhua possibly confronting Lan Di?

But really, where is that shenmue III image of the old bearded guy talking to ryo??

Ah, after seeing that Berkeley video again, yes, indeed, that's where the train part came from.
Still, isn't it more likely than not, that that scene would make it into Shenmue 3 (or 4)? A lot of the stuff from that video happened in Shenmue 2 in some form.

I remember hearing that Disc 4 of Shenmue II was supposed to be the start of SIII
