A lot of companies do their own KS and can add and edit things as they want. No matter what, the companies behind the projects are always the one who have final word in what goes up or doesn't.

I mean, if his was your game are you going to let a team that's only real job is to use english and understands how to use KS do your updates and ideas? I mean, I think a few of you are looking at a couple of things wrong.

They really can't add tiers, stretch goals etc on their on or even based on their on ideas. All of that is entirely up to the developers or owners of a IP.

I have seen many people say the IGA KS was ran perfectly but do you really think the people doing the KS for them were making the ideas for what went in as stretch goals? Of corse that had to come from the developers who knew wha they can add to their game. I'm not trying to defend what has or hasn't been done as some of you are trying to point out.

I'm simply pointing out that maybe I nor you know what is the cause of some of the problems of the KS. It isn't just the KS team though? perhaps?

I also said, they have finally gotten in a small little groove of what helps bring in money, so we have to give them both a bit of credit?

They did move the goals to the top like so many people asked for and complained about. All I'm saying is, when is there some positive things given to the team? I mean, they did more than what a lot of KS ever did from feedback before. i almost never saw things moved around based on fan feedback.. come on guys they are obviously trying and did do so many of the ideas that were feasible..

The kickstarter is their job and suggesting goals, rewards etc is too. Obviously they need to discuss it with yu but they were hired to manage the kickstarter so of course they choose in what direction it goes. Or do you seriously think a 57 year old man just hired a company specialised in running kickstarters and media relations to look pretty and only do what he says?

It's funny you would say it's due to yu suzuki and his team not knowing what they're doing that it's failing when the fact that they don't know what they're doing is why they hired a team that specialises in kickstarters in the first place yet somehow the poor job of that team isn't to blame.

If it was your KS , you may have a fairly clear idea of what you watn to do without having to do everything through a KS team. Like I said, we don't know what the KS team has suggested did or didn't do. So what you are saying can't really be shown as a problem for the KS team or for YS. We honestly don't know where the actual problem lies to be fair. You nor me have no idea. So, we simply can't just blame the problems on the KS team and say that must be it.

I'm not blaming anyone for the issues they had before, simply giving suggestions to what is possible more than anytying. That's all. Point blank, just like when people say a cop shot a kid without cause or for good cause. We really don't know what it was. We aren't there, we didn't see what happened and we can only "guess"

So, I'll just leave this at that, because there are no facts for saying who is at blame.

Did you not read "Communication, media relations and Kickstarter project consultation and support."?

It pretty much says in their description what their role is and the sheer poor quality of that stream alongside the complete lack of social media presence and the quality of the kickstarter page itself is proof enough of how worthless they are.

Why would Yu even hire a team like them if it were just to do exactly as he says?

Can you not read?

The Twitch stream last night was under all three. Are you daft?

He was clearly nervous about being on stream and was trying to play it off by overreacting. If people are going to roast him, it's just going to make his confidence worse which is really sad. I'm really disappointed with the general attitude here. I would have expected better.

THIS. The kickstarter efforts cannot be reduced to this.

And in the end, I think that it might be better to work with, instead of against, these guys at this point in the campaign.
It's frustrating to know that the campaign might not reach its full potential and lots of stuff seemed unprepared/improvised which is bad for a project this big. But they seemed to cooperate at least, kept track of what fans were asking for and informed Yu which led to a few changes.
Maybe YS Net doesn't even think that they're doing a bad job? Maybe they even got a pat on the back for their Twitch-idea and the rewards since it led to more funding two days in a row? :P

While I do think the whole thing could have been handled better, I agree that we shouldn't be attacking anyone personally. There are better ways to go about this. We as fans of Shenmue should simply help them make it better. They are clearly open to suggestions and criticism.

I'd like to believe that if Joel did join, he would contact Yama for verification of who he is and what would be here to engage us in.

It's the decent thing to do, instead of just joining here incognito to defend his actions in the Twitch stream. That would just be taking this further by mocking and undermining the community thats dedicated a decade and a half to this franchise.

Hmmm, are they? Their social media presence is next to null. There's really no interaction with the fanbase that I can see aside from these one off interviews with Yu Suzuki and I am guessing those happen because of Yu Suzuki himself more than anything else.

I mean, it is taking them forever to even "consider" a PayPal option for people who don't like Kickstarter. I mean, come on, time is getting on now. It's really about time they already sorted basic things like that out.

I think attacking people is crass and pointless and does nothing for our cause. On the other hand, I do think criticism is warranted. Please do not toe the line into harassment. I really fear for his facebook and twitter against moron Shenmue fans who think harassing will make things better.
