Oh wow, this is incredible and really great to see - even those who haven't played it seem to 'get' it. If they do go back and play the first two games, I'm quite jealous as they'll get to experience the beauty of them for the first time :)

While I have my reservations about the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter, which is still not even halfway towards a "true open world," folks have thrown money at it with aplomb. Over the weekend, perhaps spurred by a false sense of freedom (or apologies for the women's world cup result), Shenmue 3 passed Torment: Tides of Numenera ($4.2M) to become the second most funded video game on Kickstarter.

First is the recent Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night ($5.5M), which Shenmue 3 ($4.4M) could reach in the next 11 days in its campaign, though that seems unlikely.

Even doubters are acknowledging Shenmue 3's hype.

I don't understand how someone with so much to stay and who clearly thinks he's really smart has no idea what he's talking about.

The interest that this kickstarter has generated is just incredible. It must make Suzuki's search for additional funding so much easier now. This is already a shining victory even if we don't reach any more stretch goals at this point.

Yeah.

One thing no one can deny is even if Shenmue 3 has a rather small number of backers, its fans are willing to pay a premium for it.

I've been suporting Shenmue through my other forums twitter page, also reached to 'The Tweeted Times' site which was neat. Counting down the days now:
