Hello everyone.
We've got a news for you today. We are launching the official Shenmue III Chinese language website, which will continue crowdfunding with the addition of Alipay.
Since the launch of the Slacker Backer campaign, we have received numerous messages from enthusiastic Chinese fans to add Alipay to our Slacker Backer campaign.
You said it, and we listened.
We are pleased to announce the long-awaited Alipay support for Slacker Backer campaign is starting today.
In addition to that, the webpage will have Chinese language support, making our webpage easier for Chinese speakers to use.
The contribution through Alipay will also be counted towards the Stretch Goal.
Be sure to check it out!

Your comments and feedback is what keeps on improving the Shenmue III project .
Please keep them coming!
Shenmue III Team

Agreed! Wanted to check the page but it appears to be down right now. This will definitely bring in more revenue.

Well Shenmue is pretty big in China. I didn't know they had trouble with payments over there, so of course, I hope this brings in a lot more money. Let's keep an eye on it.

If any mods can throw this up in News that would be great. I would do it, but my laptop is factory resetting on Windows 10, and is taking about 12,000 hours.

So, this means a Chinese version of the game, right? The update isn't clear on that as far as I can see.

No Chinese version planned as of now, I'm just hoping that a Chinese investor takes notice before the game's release and throws a ton of money at them. A man can dream.

Will be interesting to see how this affects the PayPal funding.

The addition of Alipay for chinese fans is a very good thing, but if Chinese language support is confirmed in a near future, this should mean also new stretch goal.

PS. Every time they do an update to the Official Shenmue 3 Website, it's down for hours ](*,)

Yeah I did ask the question of a Chinese release during the Monaco event, and Suzuki-san said nothing planned as of the moment.

Personally I'm worried piracy would be difficult to tackle if they tried a Chinese PC version, so can only really hope for PS4 IMO. Sega ported the yakuza games to Chinese market so there's some hope.

Interestingly I think Shenmue is popular in China, and its music has even been featured in some TV shows. Check out this video at 34 mins for example:

Happy for our Chinese pals. Although I can't see any boost coming up with that.

If I'm not wrong, there's a social network way more popular than Twitter in China, I don't remember the name though...
It would be great if Chinese Dojo members could post about 莎木3 and the Slacker Backer support through Alipay on this social :)

I believe it is called Weibo. Sadly, that's all I know :p Reaching out to some Chinese Shenmue fans would be a great idea though!

Great news. The game plays in china. Why not sell a chineses version in China?

An extra Strechgoal between 6.6 and 7.0 millions for chinese subtitles is needed as well!!!
