Shenmue III teaser is FINALLY HERE!!

(Chapter 7 and beyond)

It's so nice to finally have a clear picture of the game's aesthetic. And it's even better than it looks so good.

I'm totally confident in the end product now. Yes there's work to do, but they've done this much already and there's still almost 18 months to go.

Well they actually show the boat itself aswell. So the whole Guilin chapter revisit might be cofirmed right now.

Man, this is getting savaged on NeoGAF. I don't think it looks that bad, but it looks too much like a generic UE4 game to me.

I assume that's just how they get from Bailu to Choubu. It is a port town along the river. I could be wrong though.

First discovery! Look who's back at Shenhua's house (in the lower left corner).

A still shot of this scene makes the faces light issue more apparent... but there's still so much time ahead!
I'm sure the final result is going to be breathtaking!

This is way more than expected to be revealed!

Will there be anything else? They said movie clips, right?

And miraculously enough, Ryo's jacket actually looks ok

NeoGaf is trash like always.

Yeah, it could be both. That ferry does look a lot like the one in Shenmue II though. But makes sense for the place it's in.

I think we will see another trailer at PSX 2017!

The Guilin chapter re-visit may make sense for a number of reasons:
- introduce brand new audiences to who Shenhua is
- introduce why Ryo is in the area in the first place
- good tutorial to QTEs with the various 'jump over tree trunks' and 'jump over rocks in stream' events

On the other hand, while the Guilin forest long-walk may have been a fantastic, relaxing paced gift for players who had already spent ~10 hours playing through all of Shenmue 2, we shall have to see how Yu has integrated such a potentially polarizing segment smack dab into the start of a brand new game with brand new players.

I think it's actually worse for those that played the game. You know all this, you love all this, you wanna admire the beautiful new graphics while floating in nostalgia heaven... but you want to reach that damn stone pit asap to finally get to the point where the story continues!!!
