HOLY SHIT!!! amazing!! this will mean we can use savefile for shenmue 1 and 2 hd to shenmue 3!! YES!!!!

when will be release date? it is vital it will be released soon, before shenmue 3.

edit: late 2018 release. that really sucks though. shenmue 3 will be released at the same time.

So exciting can't believe they are doing this! And SEGA actually making a big deal about it. Personally I will be buying PS4 and Xbox versions but will play it on PC. This really is going to be there year of Shenmue.

Get in . Do I get it on Xbox one though with S3 only being on PS4? Hmm.

Much prefer X1 but might be nice to have achievements etc on the same platform, in case they decide to link them in anyway

Very happy to finally be able to play the original with Japanese audio for the first time. Dual control options is great, think I'll go for the updated ones, I know it will definitely help with newcomers (my friends struggled with the classic controls when I got them to play the first Shenmue).

I can live without Timex, Coca-Cola, etc. branding. For the die-hards they can always mod those into the PC version.

Funny to see that D3T are based in Cheshire; I grew up around that area (lived in Cheadle Hulme from when I was a few months old until I was 7, then again from the age of 16 to 18).

I dunno what kind of access to original assets there is or not; my dream would be for uncompressed/less heavily compressed audio for the games but again, that's something I can live without. Just being able to play them on my laptop with an Xbox 360 controller and Japanese audio is a dream come true.

I hope this means Suzuki won't devote too much time to recaps of the original games in Shenmue III. Maybe seeing a scene or two with updated models would be nice, but I think they need all the development resources they have to focus on the latest game in the series. Wonder if we'll be able to carry saves over?

Did anyone notice in the screenshot with the new interface that it includes a little camera icon?
Seems like the snapshot feature carries over. That is very nice, I just hope that doesn't mean everything is built on the Xbox version...



I wonder how many licences they can keep for this rerelease. The way the interface has been redesigned makes me think there won't be any Timex watch anymore. But then again they had to redesign it as there is need for 3 new button designs. And the HUD watch didn't bear any logos anyway and the new one looks very similar still.

I don't have much hope for Coca Cola in Shenmue I but there's other stuff like the Case Logic bag, the Zippos, Sumito Bank, Sapporo drinks, Hitachi... It would be a little sad if these had to go. Now the bag and bank don't add much to the game at all but the drinks and the cassette player do quite. And how are we going to distinguish between the real and the fake lighters when all of them are ZUPPO.

As a day one fan.. This has been a crazy couple of years.. From visiting Dobuita to meeting Yu and fellow fans at gamescom and now seeing 3 Shenmue titles in production..

Better prepare my wallet!
