Shenmue - Return to Dobuita St. Trailer feat. Koralik+Yusuf!

phpBB [video]

Some really beautiful shots of Dobuita here alongside some new gameplay clips showing us more of the new ingame UI such as the Yen counter and the subtitles font. Game looking really sharp and clean.

Also the clown on Tom's Hot Dog truck has been colour corrected back to how it was in the original game! :O

P.S. 100 Yen soda drinks in Shenmue are priced at 130 Yen irl, the inflation is real! :O :D

The in-game clips look really good. I think they updated the subtitles nicely while still keeping the color-coded outlines.

To be frank, something about all this has short-circuited my brain. It's not fully sunk in that we're getting all this. I've been hoping for this for years. It's amazing, but it's so amazing that it's still partially beyond belief for me.

IRL Dobuita is gorgeous, great cinematography in this doc.

We got to see the subtitles text which is great, they sure have made the letters smaller which i'm not a huge fan of but i sort of expected. Still think they look good. Game footage seems to be from a older build but it still looks very accurate to the original.

Man, nothing else to say than im super excited \:D/

EDIT: Also noticed in the split second the showed from the intro where fuku-san gets thrown out of the dojo, the hazy fog is back which was missing on the first trailer proving that it was a incomplete build and we shouldn't worry.

At the end of the shot... that official Sega message saying "#shenmuesaved" make me almost cry!

The ingame scenes looks nice to me, but the texture of Ryo's jacket in Shenmue 1 looks a bit worst compared to Shenmue 2 scenes. I hope its just a difference between an old version they worked.

The XBOX version had a slightly higher poly count on the cuffs and collar of the jacket.

Hm... I never noticed this :-k Thanks.

I hope that texture (or even the complete Ryo's model) have been included in the first game.

Doubtful. Also, nothing else of Ryo's model is any better on XBOX. Besides, I prefer the Dreamcast version even though it is admittedly a bit more washed out even in Shenmue II. Definitely is nice, and not having played IIx for about 12-14 years I forgot how good the upgraded collar looks, but the baggy cuffs always bugged me haha.

The Dreamcast jacket looks a bit better like a bunch of other minor graphical touch-ups from the first to second game. On my DVI 1080p setup, the jacket looks nicer upscaled in either game, honestly. Presuming the footage is in 480p mode (which Sega has confirmed will be a toggle option) because the Shenmue I jacket definitely looks like lower res; not like how I see on my personal TV output.

Yup, that's true. But there's actually one particular machine further along on Dobuita Street that still sells Coke cans at 100 yen which is perfect for recreating the Ryo drinking experience. I like to think the owner's paying tribute to the game by leaving it at that price. :)

Jack is a small bar which even has an electronic darts machine (although it was broken when I went there). The Tom door leads upstairs to a karaoke bar, I believe.

Great video. Saw this before coming to the Dojo on Ziming's channel, as I still have that subbed and wanted to open a new topic about it. Thanks for making the topic, Flagshipfighter!

I wasnt expecting this as the announcement tbh but it was a welcome one. Both Adam and Imran are great guys and i really enjoyed they're funny yet nostalgic take on Yokosuka.
