Up until now, it hasn't mattered if a few people who've seen our links have chosen to vote for other characters instead, so long as the majority followed our advice and voted for Ryo. But now, if we're hoping to limit the number of characters crossing the 1000 threshold (for reasons I laid out above), we don't want to risk shooting ourselves in the foot by raising awareness amongst fans who might go on to vote Vectorman over the line.
Based on what we've gather over at SEGA Forums, we have 5 characters who are gonna break 1000 at this rate; Miku, Segata, Ryo, Vectorman, and Ristar. Miku and Segata are very likley to be dropped thanks to rights issues(I've talked this over with Miku fans and they agreed not to flip their lid if/when she does get passed up, they just wanted an outlet to voice their support, Segata's also played by a real life person so there's bound to be demands there), leaving just Ryo, Ristar and Vectorman.
Also, there's nothing stopping people from voting both Vectorman and Ryo. Ryo's almost passed her up anyway and he's bound to get loads of support.
