Really glad to see ryan, mue 26(chris), and south carmain (ruben) yesterday. Thanks for the good time guys. Shame I don't have more time to do it often. Now that makes 4 dojo members I've hung out with!

Yeah, big up my dawgs SC, Martian and Ryan. Good seeing you chaps at the historical first ever London Dojo meet! Shenmue fans....in real life, it was surreal but awesome.

You know, the thing I come to realize is that typing everyday on a message board really helped with my writing. And reading other people's posts, you tend to pick up and "feel" different styles and personalities just by reading them. And the ones that stand out the most tend to be people who project a character (real or not) that seems very believable and entertaining.

No doubt this and other things helped me find a "voice", which is the most valuable thing you can have and sets you apart from people who just write stuff. And I never feel like i'm just "writing a screenplay/comic book/novel" which I now feel is a defeatist attitude that creates so much writer's block and people giving up, I just feel like i'm taking a pretty cool idea I really like and just add more things to it. And before you know it, it's a complete story.

How would you describe the "voice" you've found? In terms of here, there are a lot of rather nutty characters, do you see your voice as a more relate-able and grounded one (I do) or do you think that you're another inmate of the ward?

I think both. The only way to understand the crazy people around you is to become crazy yourself. And use as much self-control as possible to cage that beast, only to unleash it in other venues.

I think that's the key to success. Getting inside these people's heads, understanding the logic as to why they do what they do, and then unravel their story through your point of view. Only then they seem real because at one point, they probably were.

One of the reasons I like the dojo so much is because of all the interesting characters. It's like our own little soap-opera. :P

I'm looking forward to it. I really liked the first one.

I will reserve judgement. Just a poster. Might be Khan and in that case be a big epic thing. Just hoping the series does not fall of track. I was very against the first one and pre judged until I saw it. It was a dumbed down ST but still a really fun film and liked it a lot. I also don't consider them cannon anyway.
