I largely agree, though I can't comment on the latter two of the Batman trilogy as I haven't seen them. Memento is definitely the best Nolan movie I've see, and I really like Batman Begins. Thought Inception was quite mediocre and hugely overrated if I'm honest, I also actually watched Insomnia recently and found it massively disappointing. A bit of a cookie cutter crime thriller.

Only if we're talking about that Daniel Day Lewis film and ignore everything else he did.

I didn't care for The Master. Probably need to see it again though. That's just the way character study films are though. The lack of real plot makes it a slow watch.

I dunno man, there will always be someone who finds a particular director overrated...

See?

As for Nolan, I like his works, but I don't think the guy ever asked to be adored by his fanbase the way that they seem to do. Putting it past his internet fanbase (let's face it, the majority of his fanbase are internet dorks) I think there's obviously a lot of talent there that he sometimes utilises well, sometimes doesn't. Personally, I'm sort of excited to see what sort of film he does next, since the guy can clearly do whatever the fuck he wants now. The Prestige is his best film though, no doubt about it. Everything else is all over the place in terms of quality. But I always want to see his next movie, whether it's great or just okay.

I did like Inception, but I just found it ridiculous that people find it confusing. I found it really easy to follow.
