Thanks.
I beat Gravity Rush last night. Game was phenomenally good. Really, really enjoyed it. It's pretty much unbeatable on the Vita now, I think. Since I got it free from PSN+ just makes the whole thing even sweeter. The storyline is typical of Toyama, the guy just makes some of the most crazy, convoluted storylines {with some similar motifs as with his other games), but this one instead of being menacing, was really charming. The atmosphere in this game is just brilliant and the game just sucks you in. I really liked the beat 'em up combat and being able to travel anywhere on the map by flying around. I enjoyed leveling up Kat, meeting all of the characters and walking out from the experience with so many questions. It's nice to play a game that makes you want to know what happens next, the sequel hooks don't feel pointless, since the universe this game takes place in is so mysterious anyway, as are the characters.
Cannot wait for the sequel to be announced. And yeah, it won the Japan Games Award which Toyama was the recipient for. Dude has gotten into my top 5 favourite game designers now, no doubt about that.
Also been playing:
Stuck in Digital Devil Saga (PS2) in the final dungeon, the regular enemies just kick my ass, I mean damn, they are tough.
Devil Survivor Overclocked (3DS), a few hours into it now. Game hasn't been too tough, so far, but I can sense a difficulty spike coming.
Black Rock Shooter (PSP) - the soundtrack just kicks all kinds of ass. It's really retro and very nice to listen to. Fans of 32 bit OSTs, check this one out. The game itself is really good too, really enjoy the shooting. It's almost but not quite an Action RPG, it's more like a shooting game with RPG elements thrown into it. The storyline is nothing to write home about. Really enjoying this game at the moment, anyhow.
Keep playing Yakuza 4 on and off, will probably dedicate time to it this weekend and play through Tanimura's story, then I'm guessing it's Kazuma's last.
Game of Thrones (PS3) gotten a few hours into that, as well. It's giving me that fix, since there was no episode last weekend. The voice acting can be pretty cruddy, the presentation could have been better, but I actually really enjoy the combat in this one. It's in the same style as Dragon Age, but with some refinements to it and more varied scenarios. Really liking this game so far.
In the same boat as Orange really, playing loads of games at once, but I'm totally fine with it.
