Hello everybody,
I had a crazy idea last night:
We create a small video game about waiting for Shenmue III. It's a meta game about all of us in shenmuedojo and the rest who have been holding on to a sliver of hope about Shenmue III.
Now you're probably wondering "who will want to play this, except maybe a few of us?". Well, the point of the game isn't to sell millions, it'd be free! The point is to raise awareness that SEGA is so slow/reluctant at making Shenmue III that fans have made a game about waiting for Shenmue III.
This wouldn't be a big game, it doesn't even have to be good, it's very existence should be worth the trouble it takes to build it. I also think it would be fun.
If we can get a large team working on small tasks it shouldn't take too long if it is well organised. We can use a silly RPG maker or something, it can even be text-adventure based! We can storyboard it starting from the first moment Shenmue II is completed and we all ponder about the next iteration of Shenmue all the way up to today's Shenmue III registration hoax and the Shenmue Tweetathon.
Share your thoughts and maybe suggest some things for the timeline. Once we have a bunch of exciting events that took place (including that silly Shenmue III hoax that shenmuedojo put in, like, 2004 lol) then we can map out a narrative to link these events.
It's weird to have spent a decade waiting for Shenmue III with you guys and I think it's an experience worth sharing, what do you think?
