Would that dialog happen if you didn't help her to find Yamamoto's house the first time? I guess not! And it would make sense otherwise...

The fact alone that she thanks you when you meet her in the open already makes it pretty evident that you have to help her. Also nice to know after aaaaaall those years that there actually is a payoff for helping her.
