Yu Suzuki makes an appearance at
03:40 on the video.
http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/videos/zoom-net/It's in Espanol, and Sandro Marmelo from
Shenmue500K provided a translation (and some comments about it):
He [Yu Suzuki] said that:
"The way games are designed have changed a lot over the years. That's incredible that, nowadays, everyone can create a 3D game... That's possible because of the free software suites scattered all over the Internet and their very ease of use, and also because of the powerful graphic engines, which are easily accessible to anyone."
He said this in a sort of independent games developer conference. It is stated that there's a growing market for independent developers, and that Japan is starting to be aware of this. Anyway it's good to see Yu moving and talking. He was silent for too long.
In another news, over 50% of Japan’s gaming market are made up of smartphone games ("
Japan’s Smartphone Game Market Worth US$5.4 Billion In 2013, Accounts For Half Of All Games")
Furthermore, further details have been revealed for Yu Suzuki's latest title. Report by
SEGA Nerds:
Virtua Fighter Fever Combo will be released in mid-April and will be available on iOS and Android platforms for free.
According to
4Gamer,
Suzuki’s role is more of a producer, where he’s supervising the development of the game.
Virtua Fighter Fever Combo’s pre-registration is
currently open, and those who register will be rewarded with an “ultra-rare” Akira card.
