Indeed. - However, the point is that for games with heart / choice & consequence / interactive-storytelling/fiction/art (a form of variety), there is not an established/stable/big market to (always) support them, as with other games such as
CoD (and other cliché examples of such kind of saturated games you can find) and their consumer-base/market.
The feedback cycle between consumers of the former kind of interactive entertainment and the quantity of such kind of products has yet to grow to a decent/impactful level, but it seems it is getting there.
(It would happen even quicker if Shenmue made a successful return.) - And, of course, not all of those need to bring qualities of drama, political issues et cetera into their context; evidently, they can also bring light-hearted, bright, cheerful, hopeful themes, too.
