Oh man, every time I see a new screenshot, i'm reminded of how beautiful the look and feel this game is going to be!

It's clear they haven't really gotten the look down just yet, but given what they said about the importance of creating the world to be the right size, I can see why they're not spending time and money creating assets that match the art design desires just yet. It'd be dumb and expensive to make all that stuff then have to cut it/make more if the sizing of the world is wrong.

Still blows my mind to think that we will actually be able to dive back into the world of Shenmue and experience these characters, environments, and this story again. I finally completed my post-announcement celebratory play through of Shenmue II last weekend, and was once again amazed by what Suzuki and team managed to accomplish in the far too brief Guilin section.

I don't even think they date back to recently but several months from the Shanghai event. And the character models are still the same of the E3.

Something about looking at these screen shots makes me kinda miss the DC look. Shen 1 and 2 looked very unique over any game at the time and today so i guess I'll have to adjust to seeing Shenmue in this kind of fidelity.

You may have a point. It's easy to see where the game world 'ends' because of nothing being on the horizon. The China expo images had the same issue, so I really don't think these screens are "hot off the presses", so to speak.
