I dunno, he's acknowledging that he's been saying it a lot previously, but it seems he's hinting that whatever roadblock was in the way will soon be removed. I think that deserves the continued benefit of the doubt.

Trust me on this... They will add the PC version when the media coverage is big around Shenmue (3).
Probably quite soon? :P

How do you know the earnings from PayPal are being used to further develop the game?
Surely they would have allocated the budget by now.

What if, the money is going towards paying for Joel Tess' Fanta drinking habit?

And also because it easily brings in enough per month to hire a handful of developers, or potentially acts as a financial buffer so they all still get paid if the game needs delaying six months.

Honestly, I don't care if all it does it buy the devs some lunches and coffees. If that's what it takes to get them through development, so be it.

As for promoting it... I feel like I did everything I could and spent every ounce of energy I had on it. Real life problems intervened and I had to spend less time on it than I would have liked. (Hence my being scarce.) But I still take the time to tell people about it on a personal basis, and continue to donate when able.

Every little bit helps. That philosophy is how we got it Kickstarted after all.

I also hope some news on PC soon as I'd like to contribute more. I put down 175 bucks which is all I could afford as I was facing a layoff, but I knew I wanted to do it because I had been waiting for the game and it was a one time opportunity.

Wait I haven't logged in for ages, I donated $100 on kickstarter - will I still get my copy on PC as promised?

You'll get to pick which version of the game you want when KS Backer surveys go out closer to release.

None of us are privy to the reason why the PC version isn't available on the Slacker Backer site. It could be many, many things that they can't actually talk about for business reasons (i.e distribution chain, etc), but Cedric has been assuring us for a long while now that it's coming.

He's our only official word on the matter, and though he does admit he's said "soon" to us for quite a while without progress, the last time he spoke about it, it seemed like whatever roadblock was in the way was clearing up.

I'm worried that it won't reach the stretch goals. Of course we all want it to be the best it can possibly be so without it reaching at least $10 million, we may be missing major features that would really add a lot to making a fully unique and amazing experience like I and II. Even Suzuki-san said that "it would need $10 million to be truly open world".

People put too much emphasis on that quote, IMO. The game was designed to scale with the available budget, so they're not going to shoot for the moon and make a $10 million Shenmue III and leave out the parts they couldn't afford.

As for major features, they were smartly loaded towards the lower end of the KS goals. We've reached the majority of them, with the remaining combat ones likely to end up part of the game anyway. That's not even accounting for unexpected efficiency in UE4 allowing for stretching the money further, or additional funding being provided to development after the KS success.

No.

The people running it aren't even promoting by it. Why should I?
