Shenhua Dies??

I've always known about the standard bad endings but today I come to find out that there's another alternate scene where a Tree crushes Shenhua. :shock:

How is this scene triggered?

LanDC posted a video for it a while back. I don't know how it's triggered though. You can find it in the Shenmue 2 movie section.

Yeh, i remember reading the post. Lan DC found the movie whilst hacking the game, he does many mods y'know! However, it cannot be triggered, thus is not actually intended to be a part of the plot.

Oh I see, I didn't think it was part of the game but since it was in the Shenmue II movies section for a second I thought it really could be triggered. It really does fall on her, eww.

It can actually be seen. At first I thought it was unused, too. Noone had recognized it, nor was it visible in any guide books. To do it, the day after the Crag, once Ryo gets the lead, sit and wait till 5PM. The scene will then occur. After it happens, you'll get a chance to retry the day.

Whoa I always wondered what happened if you dawdled instead of heading on your way. Like would they spend another night or something? Guess not.

That cutscene is also the only time you see blood at all in Shenmue (albeit briefly)

Yeah, I'm not sure it is either. It just looks like the tree falls in front of Shenhua. And it's difficult to tell whether it's blood or not. Possibly. As the scene was included in the game and can be triggered, I would have thought the rating of the game would have to be 15/16+ rating, to contain realistic blood. I guess as it's so slight and may not even be blood, it doesn't really affect the rating.
