out of all the times I have played Shenmue I, about 5 or 6 times, I have never been in this place, I saw a green door and a camera outside and some weird guy in this white suit waiting out side for the place to open, and I am like wtf is this, I have never been in here before, I am wondering what kind of place it is, from what I could gather of the music its some porn studio or something, anyone know what it really is? or is my suspision correct?

You're supposed to go in there when Hisaka San tells you she sees lots of guys with tattos "over there".

No youre not supposed to go there. Someone in there can tell tell you information you use to find charlie, but you can find charlie another way. I doubt that it is a porn studio. People in Dobuita tell you that it is filled with questionable characters and that Ryo should stay away from there. I don't know what they actually do there, and for all I know you could be right, but it seems like its a business that has "under the table" stuff going on.

By the way, I made a mistake, it's not Hisaka San who says that to you, it's the old oman at the tobaco shop.

Ya I noticed that too but you can also get told to go there by Kinuyo Sawano, who works at the Hokuhoku luches in Dobiuta. I just assumed you confused her with Hisaka who works for Hokuhoku lunches in the harbour.

Nagai Industries is a local establishment where members of the Yakuza (Japanese/Chinese mafia) work. There are several members inside, along with a sort of local ringleader. I haven't played the game in ages, so I can't remember any names, but Tom mentions the man at some point during the game. These Yakuza shouldn't be mistaken for the ones associated with the Chiyoumen, they are traditional and old-fashioned. They believe in honor and trust, much like the old-fashioned mafia of America did. That's what Tom says, anyway. So, basically, Nagai Industries is a hideout for the old-school mafia.

The main guy in the Nagai industries building name is Akira i remember tom saying something about Akira telling stories about when he was in the Yakuza

Yes you can get in here. When looking for Charlie, you have nothing else to to during the day besides asking around about him. You can ask the motorcycle shop guy, the mulitary surplus guy and hokuhoku lunches woman. The lunch lady and apparently the Tabacco shop woman both tell you to go Nagai Industries where you can get more info on Charlie. None of this info really helps as the only way to meet him is a cinamatic triggered at night as you approach You Arcade from the far end of Dobuita.

The interior to Nagai Industries is a staircase leading to offices on the second floor. Only a couple of people in the offices talk with you. Also there is some punk outside the offfice door. If you try to talk with him he says something like "You better get the hell away from me. If you dont get the hell away from me, I'll make you wish you had." Ive always remebered that guy well for some reason.

He seems to like the self-assured Tom, and often tells him stories of ninkyo.

yeah it makes sense that he is with the Yakuza, when I walked in the says "dont tell me I need to tell you what kind of business we run here" or something along the lines of that, thats why I was wondering what kind of place it was, that and the fact that the music sounded like porno music, lol.

I think there are other parts of the game where Mr Nagai can give you information, but I don't remember any specifics. I think I remember reading that the man in white who hangs around outside wants to join the Yakuza, and so he stands outside there everyday in the hope that they'll let him join... wierd. Also, while looking for Charlie, several people will hint that Nagai can help, but also don't reccomend it.

I dont know why but i could hardly ever get into Nagai Industries even when they were open it just wouldnt let me in sometimes, anyone know why?
