Bush vs Kerry election night (updated throughout the night)

For those curious as to how the election is playing out as of this moment George Bush has a large lead in electors.
(270 electors needed to win)

As of this moment: 9:35 AM Eastern

Bush
-254 electors
-29,874,191 total votes

Kerry
-242 electors
-28,001,888 total votes

If the president was decided by pure popular vote Bush would have a slight lead. As it stands right now however Bush has a very large lead in the election with 162 electors. I'll update the info as it comes available. However, let me just go on to say that this is very grim for Kerry as I expected. California is a must win state for Kerry or else it's over right then and there. Clear and simple. Also, if Kerry doesn't take Florida his chances of winning even with California are very slim.

Edit 1: House and Senate control is a sure thing for Republicans.

Well I just turned on the TV and Kerry's leading by quite a bit in Pennsylvania...not only that, but I saw it on FOX, so you know it's true :lol:

He better be. If he loses even one of the big 3 he's in big trouble. As of right now everyone I've seen on the news has been like "Weeeeell.... Kerry could still win but he has to do this and that ect." Not good.

Nope, not too good for Kerry. He must win Ohio or Florida. He hopefully will get both. He is looking good in PA, we should know that one soon. And he will win California, no doubt.....I hope.

It is now predicted that if Kerry does not carry at least Florida AND Ohio he is finished.

If he wins Ohio, PA, Winsonsin, and Iowa, I think he can afford to lose Florida. Let's wait and see...

The guy who said it just retracted his statement saying it was foolish to speak so soon. Just the same, I can certainly see where he's coming from.

www.yahoo.com has a very nice map. Looking at PA and Ohio, I'm still cautious. Looking at Florida, I think we're screwed there. Same with Wisconsin, but Iowa and Minnesota look okay for Kerry.

This just in. Pennsylvania has just been won by Kerry. Bush stands a excellent chance of winning Florida with a decent chance of winning Ohio. If Kerry could just...get...Ohio he will actually have Bush on the run. (While the numbers don't reflect this)
