In the Moon Child Bldg in Kowloon, there are five different dentists' offices on the 6th floor. They are; Moon Child Dentist (Room 606), Seventh Dentist (Room 607), Unicorn Dentist (Room 608), Golden Dentist (Room 609) and Kowloon Dentist (Room 610)
The confusion stems from the last two; Golden Dentist and Kowloon Dentist.
In Kowloon Dentist, you'll find this character, Zai Hong En;
However--in both the official strategy guide books released in Japan, namely the Shenmue II Complete Guide and the Shenmue II Perfect Guidebook, his profile claims he is found in the Golden Dentist; clearly an error as in the final game, he's in the Kowloon Dentist. Here's a scan of his profile from the Perfect Guidebook; I've highlighted where it says "Golden Dentist" (Yes, I have checked and that it is what the text says);
So who is actually in the Golden Dentist in the game if Zai Hong En isn't....Well....
There's nobody. At all.
However, both books contain a profile for a character who apparently should have been in there; Wen Cheng Xiao.
In his profile, both books claim that he can be found in the Kowloon Dentist, despite the fact that, as I have said, it is actually Zai Hong En who is in there. (Again, I have circled where it says "Kowloon Dentist)
So basically, in the final version of the game, Wen Cheng Xiao is neither in the Kowloon Dentist or the Golden Dentist; he is simply not in the game at all. It would appear he is meant to be in the Golden Dentist, but he simply isn't. And I have looked in there on the Japanese Dreamcast version, the European Dreamcast version, and the European Xbox version. He is never there.
It would appear the two guidebooks have other erroneous information too; for example in Baihu's profile it states he is found in the Tiger Gate Bldg; which indeed, while the game was still in development, he was, but this was later changed so he'd be in the Yellow Head/Big Ox Bldg. So for whatever reason, it would appear Wen Cheng Xiao was completely removed from the game at some point.
