TBH Kojima is one of the most wasted talents in the industry. He is capable of so much more as we have seen in some GBA games and Castlevania Lords of Shadow in more recent years. Not to mention Snatcher & Policenauts. He is wasting it on one franchise. Not saying the franchise bad by any means but he has too much talent to limit himself. Suda 51 is the same way but again chose the easy route. Some who knew they could do more leftclassic big names to do more. Keiji Inafune,Yuji Naka,Hironobu Sakaguchi to name a few. No longer limited to one franchise. Kojima has expressed interest in Silent Hill. I think he really really wants to do other things but feels compelled to MGS. Anyway getting off topic. Not bashing MGS just that Kojima needs to wake up at some point and try something new maybe at Konami or his own company.

Ok I'm no tech guy but one thing I always do in games it look at textures and surroundings all the time. The vid def has many background textures and ground textures that you see right now in console games as well as some lighting. The characters look of course most impressive but I noticed you see not much detail in the way of surroundings. Few fences lot of flat areas but suspect the game will take place in many small areas espite being open world. This way they can draw more power intro making the characters it seems. I maybe 100% wrong but just going on the few minutes I saw.

This is what really pisses me off. Kojima this, Kojima that. Open your eyes! Kojima doesn't have any kind of genius. The talent lies in his INCREDIBLE teams. Kojima knows who to work with. That's his real talent. Everything he actually does by himself is vastly overrated (especially the direction - he's an average director at best). If his games were made by some third-rate teams and had generic graphics, nobody would give a shit about them. Each of his big games was hyped because of graphics that were incredible for their respective era. People get sucked into Kojima games primarily because of how they look. It's happening all over again with GZ and if you take a step back and look at all of this from a history perspective, you will get a fucking lol at how repetitive humanity is. Yes, it's not that "history" repeats itself - people repeat themselves. Anyway, one of the reasons why I stopped respecting Kojima is because he put the stage lights on himself.

BTW - after watching the extended trailer and seeing more of the actual gameplay, I'm starting to believe this will be on PS3 and X360. The gameplay is very slow and limited and the graphics - although very intelligently - get less detailed. Plus, we all should remember one simple rule - "What you see is not what you get."

What impressed me the most were the lighting and animation on this rainproof poncho:

I have to say, those videos look bloody great. It looks like Kojima might be kind of developing some of the ideas he introduced in Peace Walker. Which I thoroughly implore, as Peace Walker- while being slightly less refined in some areas than previous MGS's- had the freshest and most inventive gameplay ideas seen in the series since the first MGS.

Either way, those videos do look and sound fantastic. It's interesting that Kojima is at the helm of the game once more, assuming that this not Project Ogre, it must mean he has an awful lot on his plate.

A ten minute movie followed by a 30 sec gameplay. Kojima's back alright.

Because even something you love you need to show fierce cynicism as it's so cool.

It's funny how you're always totally off when trying to speculate upon psychological motivations. I'm bored with you. You're waaaay uncool, but on top of it all, I just don't care about your retarded attempts to censorship others. I write my opinions not for somebody to like them. I write them because I can and want to, so back off.

Any impressions on the new villain?

Image

Some say he's a lot like Gouda Kazundo. Some even see Darth Vader in him. For me, he's just a shameless Red Skull rip-off. That makes a cool villain, though. It's just not an original work, but we're speaking of Kojima here. His entire work is based on riping-off American movies and comics, with some anime stuff added to spice things up.
