Just saw one of the achievements is to Successfully Paralooped all of Gillwing’s tail in one hit. Think i managed that once on the Saturn.

Yeah it doesn't feel fluid does it? I didn't have this problem with Journey of Dreams, how have they fucked it up?

It moves in 8-way directional while The original was 360 degree analog was what i read elsewhere. When trying to do a loop it just feels un natural now :|

They better fix it.

Its odd if the link you posted is correct and the Saturn mode plays like the original.

Edit just tried myself and yes Saturn mode controls better.

Its odd but from what I've read the HD version is based off the PS2 game which had slightly different controls to the Saturn version.

But i played in Saturn mode and Nights defiantly controlled better. :???:

Getting used to the slightly different controls and have now unlocked Christmas Nights[you have to beat Wizeman with both characters] and the good news is they re did the Christmas Nights voice over. The original women's voice bugged me and I'm surprised they still have the Boyz II men track.

Only got an A rating on the last level so far. C's for the rest.

Whats the other ???? option on the menu?

Edit -- its the Nightopian Collection which you get by finishing both characters Christmas levels.

I've got As on the first levels for both Claris and Elliott and As on both of their Twin Seeds levels. Bs on the rest. Still struggling with the controls though, and I think it might take some time to get used to it.

I'm used to them but still get the odd jerkiness when doing Loops and unless they patch it that's always going to happen.

I think what SEGA need to do with this IP is completely revitalise the basics of the gameplay. I'd love to see a NiGHTS game which was centred on the aspects of the kids being able to explore the worlds a bit more freely and akin to how Mario games play but also have the NiGHTS aspect where you can explore the world by flying too. There's something very charming about the characters and worlds that Naka created which I think could be put to better use other than how it exits at present. I know they tried to do this a bit more with Journey of Dreams but they got it all wrong because SEGA don't really have the talented developers to do this. If they maybe got involved with Nintendo as a partnership or outsourced to someone like Retro then it would be possible. Of course this would never happen though as we'll just get another shit Sonic game, as per norm.

Played the demo the other day. Either it's shit, hasn't aged well, wayyy overrated, or I just flat out don't get it.

Feel the same way. Flying through hoops is just as fun in this as it is in Superman 64. It was just a marvel in 1995 because analog was new. The game is dull. I did own the Wii version and it was the same shit fly through endless hoops. Does have great music however.
