I'm getting a little sick of the medias attack on the Wii U

I own a Wii U, and I own 5 titles for it. I've owned the system for a couple of weeks and have put around 50 hours into it.


I will be honest, do not believe a word or text article you read concerning the Wii U from the gaming media. There is so much bad information and just flat out wrong information out there concerning the Wii U, the media practically wants gamers to hate it.

They overblow mediocre titles and make them seem like triple A knockouts just because they won't be coming to Wii U. They make really good titles for the Wii U seem average at best.

They said Lego City requires an external harddrive, nope, it doesn't. If you own the black one at least. They said the load times for it were horribly long, besides the first initial load taking roughly a minute, I've never come across load times that were just unbearable.

Please, I beg you guys, do not read anything about the Wii U from sources like IGN or Gamespot or any mainstream review website. I can promise you all they are doing is making the WIi U seem like it's the worst system ever and Nintendo is on it's last leg. These sites sleep in the same bed as EA, Sony, Microsoft, Activision, and a whole lot of others.

The media can be like that sometimes. They're a product of what their viewers want and in a culture that obsesses over propping up people and causes one day and tearing them down the next, it can lead to problems. I've seen stories handled on Fox News that focused on all the negative facts of a situation while leaving out the rest of the story, all while a network like CBS does the inverse. It's an intriguing way of spinning situations in a different light without actually saying a falsehood.

Media being media. back in 2007 PS3 was attacked by them. 2011 it was 3DS and last year Vita and this year Wii U. They are just doing their normal yearly punching bag system.

Anytime I take my satchel when going somewhere (like in a few min) I never take my 3DS. Always my Vita. Fucking love that thing

the vita has enough power to support a DC emulator so here's to hoping we can play Shenmue on the go in the near future (assuming they don't make a HD version compatible with the vita)

Well, I have to state that the Wii U is quite boring for a new, 2012 system. But yeah, the media are a joke.

Wii U is fine. Zombie U and MH3U are great games. Maybe not system sellers for alot of people out there but certainly worth it for me.

I want to buy a Wii U just for X alone. Other games will be a bonus. Same as it was for me Xbox for Shenmue II,Vita for Ys.

Yeah I guess the Wii U is probably getting a hard time (not that I read any of the sites your talking about). But I think to some extent it is Nintendo's own fault. They release a new console with current gen tech that's main selling point is a less exciting gimmick than it's predecessor, but the really crucial part, they release it without any particularly exciting software due out for months! I don't think it's a surprise to anyone (maybe not even Nintendo?) that the console is selling poorly. So it's unsurprising it's become a target for a media backlash.

I do genuinely have doubts as to whether the Wii U will be able to compete once the PS4 and new Xbox hit the market.

All the while Greenpeace (who hate Nintendo, as nearly every environmental portection agency does) is probably chanting "burn baby burn".
