Samples, VSTs and all that shite.

(Discuss literally anything here including introductions)

Samples, VSTs and all that shite.

Postby QWERTY » Sat Aug 17, 2013 10:06 am

I know there are a few budding music producers on here so I thought I'd give this thread a go.

Does anyone know any good sites for samples for music production? We're talking breaks, fx, movie dialogue, pads, strings, bass etc...

Also looking for some good free VSTs if anyone knows of any at all?

I've just bought myself a new laptop as the old one conked out late last year and I'm going to get back on my music flex while out in Oz.

Ta.

Typically Demonoid (now d2.vu) was my go to site. Depends on what you're using though. Lemme know if it's Logic, Reason, Ableton, Cubase, Audacity or whatever and I'll upload whatever I've got for you.

I only use Ableton for live mixes, and I stay away from FL Studio. Downloaded it a few years back though to accommodate Sourface when we used to work on shit so I'll probably have some VSTs, I'm just not sure on cross-version compatibility.

Just invest in EastWest packs and you'll be laughing.

Also for drum n bass, electro, drums/effects and all that amazingly awesome shit check out this site. http://refx.com/products/vengeance/samples/

But of course, torrent the fuck out of them. Though they're not that expensive.
