Sorry but raising shenmue awareness is not going to get you the $30 million or so needed to do a worthwhile shenmue sequal/remake.
Shenmue lost Sega tens of millions of $$$,there is no chance in hell that after all the momentum as you say pushing forward at the moment doesn't lead to any shenmue announcement soon, then im sorry but there will never be a better time to resurrect our beloved series.
Also the actual number of people still interested and rallying the support in hindsight is actually diminutive to get a $30 million project going,i suppose the way to go is for YU to release a shenmue HD remaster on every platform possible and hope that it earns enough to kickstart shenmue 3.
Or as the rumours are saying that Sony might of obtained exclusive rights to Shenmue,if somehow Yu managed to persuade some guys at Sony entertainment to give the green light to a shenmue reboot. Idk if the friendship between Mark and Yu could be the key to that but Mark's most recent project KNACK was a TOTAL FLOP,so i doubt how much of a say he has in deciding which project SCE develop.
However people thinking that because Mark is doing a discussion on shenmue that somehow it means shenmue is coming to the playstation i think don't realise that Mark has done interviews with Yu before and talked on shenmue before (for example at the games developer conference) So it's all up in the air as to what has happened, but as i say if after all of the PR and talks going on about shenmue at the moment lead to nothing, then at least for myself closing the door of ever hoping that shenmue will be concluded.
