For the life of me I cant get Shenmue running well in nullDC

Postby Immaculate » Fri Jun 19, 2015 9:26 pm

can anyone help out? its the prime reason i cant get far in. I'm using the masterchan777 version as well.There's always massive slowdown in doubita and sakuragoaka along with sound issues too. I'm not trying to run it with crazy high setting just the minimum. here's the setting im using and my PC specs

nullDC settings:
enable dynarec
accurate mode
enable CP Pass

Plugins:

PuruPuru(with PS3 controller)
everything else is left how it is

PowerVR:

Native res
Borders
Palette textures versioned
sort: off
modifier volumes: off
buffer mode: d24s8 mode 2
cache: delete old

Aica: sync audio

and my specs(my laptop for school)

2.10GHz / 800MHz FSB/1MB L2) Intel Celeron Processor T3500
3GB DDR3 SDRAM
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD

any ideas?

It's a very demanding game to emulate.

I fear your CPU and on-board graphics card are not good enough.

Hi , I did have the same problems until I did figure out this configuration that works fine to me with shenmue 1 and 2

I´m also using MasterChan777 version of null DC, runing on a laptop with intel core i7 160ghz and an AMD HD 6500 for graphics

NullDC Settings:
enable dynarec=on
accurate mode=off
enable CP pass=off
underclockFPU=off

PowerVR:
resolution : native or maximum (runs at about the same speed on both)
aspect ratio:borders
paletted textures:versioned
sort:per triangle (this solves the usual disaperance of ryo´s face when exit or entering a new area)
modifier volumes=off
Zbuffer=mode 2 (solves most of the weird shadow issues)
texture cache mode=delete invalidated
Vsync=Off

Aica=
Config= buffer size= 2048 , sync to audio =on, global focus= on, use hardware Mixing= off
limit speed and sync audio =off
sync audio =on
DSP emulation=off
mute CDDA=off

I Find that with this configuration both games run almost like in my dreamcast, and did complete them without any real issues, hope this config helps :D

I'm currently doing a playthrough on nullDC as well. (I have the physical copy of the game, two actually, it's just inconvenient for me to hook my DC up at this time.) The game runs smoothly on my PC, the only issues are some graphical glitches like Ryo disappearing before cutscenes, and also some sound stuttering every once in a while. I've read where there isn't a fix for those graphical issues at this time, but what about the sound hiccuping? It's not a big deal, as it only does it everyone once in a while for a brief instant, but I'd still like to get it fixed if I can.
