Just watched the first episode Hannibal (TV series).
It's a really solid, dark, weird and gripping pilot episode. I was honestly expecting a cheesy, shallow serial killer show going into it, but it's really surprised me. It's more psychological than anything else and it's not "just another detective show". It's really quite different from any other detective show I've seen in a long time, it's more along the lines of a Fincher movie or the original novels. And Mads Mikkelsen is brilliant in the title role, so far. Subtle performance with a creepy undertone. Hopefully it'll get him recognised as a great actor, rather than just "that Bond villain from Casino Royale".
So yeah, fans of any of the Hannibal Lecter saga (either the movies or novels) definitely check it out.

Woah, The Killing has got a third season coming out? Awesome, didn't even know that, thought it got canned.

Sure, it's not an episodic adrenaline fest but the story, writing, characters, cinematography, music, everything was done right.
Yeah, The Wire is absolutely brilliant, one of my favourites too.
