Yeah, I have looked over reviews for it, most of them are positive, some people think the story and characters sucks, some people think the game is so deep and never explained well enough in tutorials, and some people think there is too much to the UI and that there is so much to consider that the game gets in the way of itself. But I have a feeling its just an extremely technical RPG, and its not newbies for RPGs (which some reviewers mark down their scores because of). my biggest disappointments are that I am hearing the music is ear blistering, and the story isnt really all that great, 2 big areas for me. But I know there is a hell of an awesome game in there, and there is still plenty to like. I also was thinking about if this game would be able to top the original, I considered that to be quite a feat and I wont be disappointed if it does and I basically already know its not going to, and im ok with that.

Seriously though, boob sliders are a good feature... because breasts are an actual part of the female figure... it doesn't have to be a super sexual thing. Kinda dumb that they removed that.

^^I actually really agree. There's an option like that in Freedom Wars for the Vita, for example, and altering a character's body in ways like that can give them a totally different edge from a visual standpoint. You could make a gargantuan amazon woman, or a wispy little pixie type of girl, and nothing about it felt weird or inappropriate. Just different character types.

This wouldn't be a big deal, if they moved the slider all the way to the right before removing it. :D

I think it's too bad though that those that would have made them smaller out of aesthetic preferences are basically out of luck by this change as well. With the feature gone, they can't be modified one way OR the other.

Yeah I was just joking. I don't see why that was taken away, there really is no good reason. I understand, but don't agree, if they feel the need to cover up someone due to in game age, or change a line here or there to be in line with the region its releasing in. But something as trivial as a boob slider? lol doesn't make sense to me at all. So girls, and likely many guys, can't design their avatar to fit their imagination now. Doesn't bother me, but kind of breaks the RPG aspect for some folks. The game itself is in tact and that's what matters to me. I would say they did it because its on a Nintendo console, but I recently picked up the plot heavy Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson so I don't think that's it.

If this game is too complex for casual gamers as people are saying, this is definitely a must buy for any Wii U owner IMO. I might consider buying a Wii U just for this game, as its massive world and aesthetics alone makes the Wii U look truly like a next gen console. I heard people complaining about the plot, but aren't the best stories the ones we forge ourselves while playing the game (a la Dark Souls)?

Depends on if it's the right kind of game. Dark Souls is vague enough that you can do that, but most JRPGs are filled to be brim with story and explanations for every last little thing, making it nigh-impossible to really have a "personal" experience (outside of the basic forming of nostalgia and all that).

You have a point. But isn't the criticism towards Chronicles X plot for being too sparse or barebones for such a long game? I was planning to play it as I was playing a Souls game if so.

Pretty much any JRPG has tons of story so it should at the very least be entertaining. If it is bad and you have to sit through it to progress the game then it's a valid point.

My big issue with Ni No Kuni was that you had to do a certain number of side quests to progress the game at certain points and they were god awful. It ruined my enjoyment of the game massively and the main reason was that the little stories behind them bored me to death. The main objective of the game is to help Oliver save his mother but to do that you have to go through some absolute crap stories which ruins the game.

If a review complained the story wasn't good in Mario then it would seem like a stupid complaint but RPG's are known for epic adventures and the story of that adventure.

I think some of these reviewers didn't even finish the game, but got caught up doing side quests and rushed out the reviews. There is a ton of story and lore to be found. They probably didn't even touch the Affinity missions. But the approach to it is different than that of Chronicles since you make you own toon at the start and don't play a voice protagonist. The game is a bit overwhelming with the amount if shit you can do, but once you grasp everything its business as usual. Im about 50 hours in and the story of Chapter 5 had me on the edge of my seat. I really like how much the ranged gun attacks at the battle system. Soul voices can be confusing at first too. The music fits the futuristic/fantasy setting so damn good.

@riku I agree with the Ni No Kuni side quests. I loved the game, but the the repetitive side stuff got old quick. Made even worse by Drippy explaining each and every little thing 20 times over. "She's broken hearted Olly! Use this spell Oliver!"

Boy do I feel strange not being in the thick of all this XBCX talk I have been seeing every where lately. I'm just trying to ignore it honestly, it will be some time next year before I will even get to start playing it, maybe its for the best but I really wanted to get on this game at launch and play with everyone else. Really a shame cause I am one of the biggest Xeno fans around.
