No Shenmue 3 Until E3 2017!!!

To be honest I will defend it (specially since they keep showing that they're working on the project).

Really, it's not easy to do a videogame, and in this age, a trailer can make a lot of difference in terms of marketing.

2 years for a game it's the barebones for anything playable, specially a new team, using an engine they don't really know.

Jesus christ, people are still having hissy fits over this? Look, I always try to be a voice of reason here on the forum, but seriously, take a chill pill, go outside and get some fresh air. People are getting legit stressed out irl due to the fact that a video game didn't appear at a convention. It's ridiculous and not worth the stress your inflicting on yourself. It's just a game. At the end of the day you'll have your Shenmue III so just chill and don't make the final product sour for yourself by acting like everyone involved is evil. Yu Suzuki is not your enemy, Cedric Biscay is not your enemy. Nobody is trying to deliberately wrong-do you so stop acting like they're bad people.

I really think some people need to take a chill pill (and stop being so toxic with each other/snapping at each other), like I get the disappointment, I really do, all of us felt it, it's best to make our peace with it and move on. Next year is stacked with good games coming out, the months will roll by very quickly and before you know it we will get a full blown Shenmue 3 reveal.

We will get there, we got this far already, Shenmue 3 is being made as we type away on here. Have a little faith.

I've been talking with my college buddy, the one whom I met because of this series and plan to meet up with again when it releases.

I expressed my frustrations to him on the lack of information and he was poignant in his response:

"Have faith. We spent years pining, wishing for something that we'd resigned ourselves until 2015, would never come. You may have nothing to see eight now, but you have *something*. The game exists, it is still making money and will one day make it out."

We saw nothing at PSX and E3. Our updates have been less than fruitful. It was frustrating. It hurt a lot. but in hindsight that is much less a worry than years past, where nothing meant just that--Nothing.

Back to dreams and what ifs, browsing a then-quiet Dojo and listening to FREE music as our Dreamcast was the only gateway to Ryos adventure.

We will get the game. Will it meet our expectations? I have no idea, but I have faith. I picked up and held a copy of The Last Guardian today, 9 years later. And the reviews say it was worth it. This will be too.

Who says I'm stressed out? I'm living life grandly. Don't mistake my criticisms for the KS campaign for me having no life. You are projecting and makes it look like you can't take criticism towards the game, which is probably even more pathetic than what you're accusing me of. Chill? I'm chill. I'm just stating how I feel and there's nothing wrong with that.

I wouldn't consider writing paragraph after paragraph on thread after thread about your disappointment over a video game as 'living life grandly' but ok. You've allowed yourself to get so wound up about this and it's getting a bit silly now. You're quite clearly not chill. There's nothing wrong with expressing your disappointment, we all did; the only difference is we've all managed to move past it whilst here you are still talking shit about everyone involved and making petty threats of informing the media and damaging the reputation of Suzuki in complete spite. I think that's a fairly good reason to come to the conclusion that this is stressing you out.

This thread is already turning into a shit-storm, but it's to be expected. It's just going to be people arguing about what they think will happen and I worry that facts and theories will get mixed up like they did in the PSX thread.

About a week ago in the PSX thread, I questioned Peter's statement that Shenmue 3 was pulled from E3 at the last minute because there was never any confirmation about it. Then I found out from Gio Corsi yesterday that they've never had any secret plans to show a PSX trailer and later pulled it. We were specifically talking about PSX, but based on how concrete of an answer I got about PSX I can infer that E3 was probably never planned either.

Final Fantasy 7 wasn't even shown at PSX. Then again, if i was square, i wouldn't show that off as id want all the attention to stay on Final fantasy 15 for as long as possible. Likewise with sony, lets focus on the current spotlight of games and then move on to the next batch. The next batch presumably has Shenmue.

This was known in advance, and has been known for a few months. Sometime after the release of FF15 was pushed back, Square Enix specially said that they would not be showing FF7 at PSX because it was too close to the release of FF15 and they didn't want to cut into their marketing efforts for that.

My prediction is still that Shenmue 3 will be revealed properly at E3 2017, along with an instant release of Shenmue HD a. It makes the most sense. From there on, continuous exposure until release.

We will see it revealed properly before E3, unless a delay is announced. You're forgetting about the backer demo. There's a good chance that we'll get to play Shenmue 3 in demo form before remakes of the first two are announced. I do agree that E3 is the next possible opportunity for those to get announced.
