Wow, sounds like you're having a great time. It must be nice to experience a whole differnet culture as a tourist and be able to see the sights of Japan like that.

That was quite interesting. *Picks up Japanese book* I need to practice a lot more then. I want to be fairly fluent whenever I go there.

Wow!
I was walking around Shinjuku all day and realized that 1st of all, it is difficult to find a bank that accepts European cards (debit or credit) and 2nd that it sucks to be in Japan without cash in your pocket. I spent my last money to buy a burrito at 7\11 and then I walked around town for ages to find a citibank. Well it accepted my german debit card and now I am in the flow again, cash flow that is!
Another thing I realized is that I will have to live in Japan at some point in my life as I really feel I belong here! And so do all the other people. Nobody (except that Strip show lady - see previous post) thinks I am a tourist! Everyone talks to me in Japanese and mostly that works just fine! I am not fluent at all but i am improving constantly. But when I went to buy a new pair of jeans (which I got now) I had to realize that my vocabulary is still far too limited. I don`t even know what "pants" is in Japanese! Good thing that some of the people working in GAP speak perfect English and the one Lady at the cash register even said "Auf wiedersehen" to me cause she saw that my credit card is German! Now I am back "home" in my comic kissu where the people already start recognizing me and know that I am always here to use the net. Right now the net is painfully slow though and I am not sure why. Maybe someone is downloading or something... Anyway...
I will go back to the ryokan first and drop off the new pants and then I will head out to get myself a new mobile! I can`t wait to have it!
So as usual I will be back here soon and tell you guys what`s new!

I will take pics as soon as I got my phone. Not sure how soon I can post them though...
And YES it is expensive... Especially when you hang around the popular places. But after all that`s where the fun is! The only thing cheap are cigarettes... Not good for my health when they are too cheap. I hope I won`t go to Vietnam anytime soon as a pack costs around 40p or 30cents over there...

Well, gotta go back to the hotel now! See you all later!

seeing this has made me think i should go to japan 2 times, once to explore myself just like you and another to visit friends (as the 2nd time visiting friends will probably involve alot of sitting talking in thier homes) and i really want to get out and see as much of japan as possable! i cant wait for those pics and please keep posting

DaMulder, it should be comic "kissa" not "kissu." "Kissu" could mean "kiss" ;)

I'm glad to know you feel you belong here in Japan. Maybe, it's because of Tokyo
that has lots of foreign visitors. People are used to having foreigners around.
