OMG! Yu Suzuki to step down as president of AM2?

Postby Shodan » Tue Jul 08, 2003 5:45 pm

 *shock horror disbelief*

I cannot believe what I've just seen. Apparently Hiroshi Kataoka will take over as the new president of Sega-AM2!! Sega made the announcement earlier today. So what will become of Yu Suzuki? I could be mistaken here but wasn't he the president of AM2?(or is he just the general manager/producer?) What could this mean for the future of our beloved Shenmue series? If anyone has any further info then please post. Zhao?

I think he took over as president temporaryily... which was why he wasn't talking too much about Shenmue at that time... Now he has no excuse... make him work day and night on Shenmue III!

Well, if Suzuki was the president, he'll now have more time to devote to games. But he may not have as much say as to what gets made...

Actually yes I think Yu Suzuki might have only taken over temporarily. So now he should have more time for direct involvement with the games, which hopefully will lead to Shenmue III. His comments from the interview on shenmue.com indicated that he wanted to continue the series if he could, so hopefully Sega will recognise the eager demand from so many fans and get a budget sorted out to greenlight the project.
