"NARC was a pretty intense arcade side-scroller from Midway back in the late 80's and featured players shooting endless streams of drug crazed criminals in dingy cityscapes. Ah...the pure, light-hearted fun of that era.
With the overwhelming popularity of blood-soaked mayhem in gaming today, Midway is ressurecting the franchise for today's GTA-familiar masses. This time however, the title is coming to all next-gen consoles.
You play as either Max Force or Hitman, two former partners reunited with the NARC squad to take down those no-good drug dealers in dozens of levels of 3rd-person action. Ultimately, you need to track down the evil candy bar...er, I mean, drug lord named, "Mr. Big" and stop his syndicate known as KRAK from releasing a new designer drug called "liquid soul" onto the streets.
You'll have hand-to-hand attacks at your disposal such as punches, kicks, throws and the like, but also a good ammount of "standard" police weapons which include crowbars, flamethrowers, and even rocket launchers. Always a great thing to see the men in blue with a flamethrower in tow.
NARC's storyline decides which cop you control between Max Force and Hitman, but the game will also interweave their paths together, having the AI take control of your partner for a short while. Also, to stray away from being a 100% kill-fest, you can also arrest criminals, which will become progressively harder to do so depending on enemy types.
There's also side-quests to help distract from the main game throughout the 5 locations you'll visit, including an American city, Asian Docks, drug lab, and "Mr. Big's" Island.
NARC arrives on all 3 consoles in 2004."
